Clairtone Audio- 1966 Plant Video

Great video on Clairtone Sound Corp Mega Factory, Nova Scotia, in 1966. Interesting to note that all of the electronics assembly seems to have been done by lovely Nova Scotia lasses.


Cool. Growing up my dad purchased a Clairtone SS console (no TV but record storage where the TV would have been located) purchased from Marshall Fields in the late '60s. Nice clean, contemporary lines that would look great in any MCM home today. And it sounded fairly good too. We listened to a lot of FM back then but it also featured a Garrard TT. I wish I had a pic of it to post.

EDIT: Found a pic of the model we had on the interweb. I think it still looks modern.

You inspired me to go hunt up the one we had. It looked a lot like the Duchess below, but it was tubes, not SS:
