Master Tape Copies

Used to have a lot. Made DSD128 copies and sold them. I still have a few.
How did you make the coppies. I looked into this and the guys with studios that know what they are doing say its an art. You don't just get a DSD recorder, throw it on a table and expect good results.

The question is, does anyone have 2 well tuned decks that can make coppies. I have about 70 albums on tape. They are still very available from good sources. I was sent an updated list this week. They are about $150 per reel. Very reasonable. Most albums are 2 reels. Even if your dubbing with friends, that $160 in tape alone.

My sources have a lot of classic rock And POP. another has tens of thousands of classical. I would say 90% of the tapes I have bought far exceed any album or digital I have.

You do need a good playback machine to really enjoy them. Usually heads wired direct out to a NAB/IEC preamp is best. And you have to be very conscious where you store them. Cool dry place.
