FS Spendor BC-1 monitors w/stands.

For Sale
It's the "possessed by ones possessions" part. And that ever elusive putting all the money in one basket...have better eggs. Not that these aren't great...but they're more for the collector. They're fine speakers, but they're really something a collector would desire. Or the type of person who relishes LS-3/5as but BIGGER.

I agree with this, and you know how much I love my LS3/5a. :-)

Wow, that’s a great deal for a fantastic speaker. Heavenly mids!

Get thee behind me Satan.

The only SE amp I have that mates well with my 15 ohm LS3/5a is the CazTech SET845. My 300B and 2A3 SE amps were not optimal.
Same experience here. Solid state Mcintosh did it for me.
Bigger ls3/5a’s you say @JohnVF ?:chin....shipping would be a booger on these things....

wow. this is helpful to hear - would have assumed that the 15ohm rating would have matched well with 300b and 2A3. sort of points to the shortcomings of specs - but no need to re-open that old can of worms again.

And these are likely the most beautiful BC1s I've ever seen. Look great and sound exactly as BC1s should. And I'm a pretty hard core Spendor guy.

If I was looking for BC1s, these are the ones that I would want.

Yes, these are the most beautiful BC1s I’ve seen as well, and I’ve seen several. And they come with the original stands, badges and boxes ... and Derek Hughes did the smartening up!!?!

Must calm down, must calm down, must calm down, must calm down, must calm down, must calm down, must calm down ... ad nauseam

Matching SE amps and speakers is a combination of sensitivity, crossover complexity, impedance, room size, genre(s) of music and desired SPLs.

The 300B, 2A3 and EL84 SE amps certainly made music but did not fill my large-ish listening room and also did not achieve the toe-tapping "boogie factor" on the appropriate music. :)

All of the above amps drive the Lowthers and the FrankenKlipsch beautifully in the same room.

Just my opinions. :)

I currently have them on a Fisher x202, about 30wpc tubes. Works well in a small room. Not sure about going lower though.

Make an offer? All I can do is say no.

And if you think the original boxes will withstand shipping...maybe? They have the original padding, and I can add to it.

I would possibly trade these for a pair of newer Ls 3/5 sized mini monitors like a Spendor S 3/5r or SA-1? A more recent Proac? Doesn't have to be apples to apples could work out $$.

Let me get this right. I already have the BC3s, your old S100s and a ‘newer’ pair of mint SP100s and now you’re tempting me to take the BC1s??

Have you no shame sir, have you no shame?

(This is a great deal, btw.)

I’m a terrible influence.

None whatsoever.

If anybody local to Michigan wants these I'll sell them for $500. Trying to clean house!

if you post them on a-gon or audiomart they should readily sell.

perhaps the detroit area is just not that into spendor. :)
