DIY Altec 33952/802-8G tangerine phase plug

Do It Yourself
Hello Altec Experts!
Does anyone know or direct me to the thread to affix the tangerine phase plugs in 33952/802-8G drivers? When shaken the driver something is tangling inside, I’m assuming it’s phase plug came off or could it be any serious damage to diaphragm?

Thank you in advance!

Dealt with this same thing. The helpful folks here confirmed that garden variety superglue is fine, and it worked for me.

Recommend putting some shims in the gap though (I used pieces of a business card).

For future reference, you might be better off using something like Loctite Plastics Bonding System for bonding the plastic phase plug to the metal driver (it's a two-part formula). That's what I used when I had to reattach my phase plugs a few years back and I've not had any issues since then.

Funny the mention of Super Glue. While I was an engineer at Altec in Anaheim, they used Super Glue for many of their operations. I can't say they used it to secure the phase plug, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they originally did use.
The ones that I have seen sure look like it to me.
