Digging Into A 4WD Front Axle - CAD Actuator Replacement.

This is either the second or third one that I've done. The others were long ago enough to have been ordered through the J.C. WHitney catalog of car stuff.

I'm not so thrilled by the red button. I wish it were at least black.
The earlier version that I installed, 25 years ago?, +?, was based on a twist and lock metal t-handle, as their original design. I liked that one. It looked a bit like some of the old car trunk lid twist t-handles.

I hate vacuum actuators. I replaced factory Ford with Warn heavy duty manual hubs years ago. Yes, I have to get out of the truck, but to me it is a fair trade-off for known reliability.

I love that conversion! Maybe one day,....
right now, I've got Sarges OK to look at front bumpers that have tow hitch capability. But, first, I need to look into my brakes. Its time.

And, one project leads almost seamlessly into another,...

Crawling in and out of my cab, while out stuck in the wild, and having to crawl across to the drivers side, caused, a cracked dashboard on the passengers side, as it seems I was leaning a bit on that side in getting around. I had no idea about it until I went to do a bit of detailing, and when I rubbed the dash, craaaccK!, and a chip fell out into the dash.
So, I now to get do a Dashskins replacement overlay. Its supposed to be a fairly simple project though.
They look to be a very well made replacement overlay. So, the next project assigns itself.
