I don’t know who the band Slipknot is but after sampling just two songs, I don’t want to know. HOWEVER … their latest album cover art caught my eye and I’ve been seeing quite a few examples of this photographic technique lately With colors done in light show fashion (not to date myself or anything). Does anyone know how this done, that is, the blurring of colors in psychedelic fashion.
(I know that filmmaker Stan Brakhage achieved a similar affect by injecting Aniline dyes directly under the emulsion of 35mm film. (The Aniline dyes caused the bladder cancer which killed him so the wise person would best avoid experimenting.)
Anyway, how is the explosion of ‘raised‘ color affect on the Slipknot image achieved? Photoshop?
Keeping mind that I know nada squat nada about photography.
