Music Direct Catalog Arrives

My Music Direct Catalina arrived yesterday.

Actually some “reasonably” priced stuff sprinkled in between BAT and some other ridiculously priced stuff.

Very nice I thought. But it starts that old yearning which I have avoided for a long time.

Every time I drive by their nondescript warehouse by a cemetery on the northwest side I think of how nobody has any idea just what kind of yummy goodies are inside.

Wow, my daughter’s condo is 4 minute walk away.

They have a store with gear and LPs. It’s not always open but you can call and find out a good time to pop in. I haven’t been inside in several years but I’ve picked up gear directly from them.

Well, she moved to Austin earlier this year and is leasing out the condo, but if she ever moved back I'll put it on the list. She has this nasty habit of moving to places I enjoy traveling to; San Diego, Denver, Chicago, and now Austin

Austin is such a fun unique city. Speaking of food there’s a French restaurant in an old house, I think it’s called Justine’s, that I really enjoyed. Felt both French and Texan somehow. Though it’s getting very crowded in Austin now!

Austin is in Chicago, on the West Side; we lived in Resurrection there, then St. Catherines.

Well Han moved to the one in Texas, but her condo is in Edgewater at Hollywood and Ridge. Nice area.

Most of the stuff in the MD catalog is out of my area of budgetary comfort. lol

However I can say this, I have purchased through them several times in the past and the customer service is absolutely top notch.

I lived there from 1982 till 2013, it was super cool in the old days.
I miss the great local food joints and the club's with so much talent playing weekly residency, often free happy shows.
I do not miss how bad it's gotten to navigate the roads and deal with the growth..
