I had some time* -- and some fairly hefty metal strapping-- and a hacksaw...
so...
finally...
today I did a little redneck New Hampshire frugal Yankee style time alignment of the 'super' tweeters on my much-beloved Frankenaltecs.

Before:

Somebody... somewhere (ASR, IIRC) kinda constructively busted my chops about my, umm, opportunistic tweeter mounting, umm, opportunity, so I've been meaning to do something about it.

After:

You know -- I really am lethargic... so this is, like, a major achievement for me, OK? :o

_____________
* see what I did there?
 :smoke

Please report back after youve listened a while(or maybe it is an instantaneous noticeable improvement in sound?). Thanks!

Also do you still have the Carver CD player with the "digital time lens" button? The one where you thought the button might cause a space-time upheaval in an unknown part of the universe, but that you could not confirm? Just curious.;)

How does one determine the location of each driver (setback) if not all flush like on a typical monkey coffin?

Where are the clip leads?
The Audiophile Police had Hardy under surveillance for quite some time, they took down the clip lead kingpin in a dawn raid a few months back.

I heard the judge gave him a slap on the wrist, just a suspended sentence after agreeing to properly solder all connections excepting test setups moving forward, and to upgrade those test rigs to copper clip leads only.

Well, there are a couple of approaches.
I didn't actually follow any of them... but I kind of, sort of, tried to -- roughly -- align the VCs of the treble driver & "super" tweeter.
Kind of.
Actually, all three drivers.
Sort of.
I mean... roughly, you know?
Ballpark.

With a slightly more serious perspective:
I tend to think, given the broad range of wavelengths that make up audible sound, none of the physical approaches to broad-band time alignment is probably particularly good.

This is (I reckon) one of the reasons that you don't see a lot of loudspeaker companies proudly showing how good a reproduced square wave looks from their product(s).

I just want to say that my phone, which was 4.5 years old, abruptly froze and refused to come back to life after seeing you first photo. I had to go and get a new phone to view the follow-up. I don't blame you though.

I find myself wondering what my system would sound like with a super tweeter... What's the prescription for a 414 + 802g?

So, what horn are you using with the 802g?
I am sure that the 802g has some output at 20 kHz ;)

Lemme post a smaller, kinder, gentler image and see how your phone handles it, @Sean.m.miller1
(unless you've already fled this thread in terror due to your phone)

As an aside, I - ruefully - replaced my truly ancient LG phone with a "modern" smart(ish) phone a month or so ago given the demise of 3G.

Looks nice; I firmly believe the height of my horn driver at 50" on my A7s contributes to my love of them, but as far as a supertweeter goes, my input is challenged above 8K so any added advantage would be subtle, if that.

It's a 3D printed horn by our own Trieu... I forgot the exact designation he assigned it but I want to say it's based on the WE 12024.
