Altec 604-8G cabs: this or that?

I’ve got a couple of pairs of candidates here that could, by cutting new front baffles, house my 604-8G. I’m struggling with the trade-offs, and thought I’d punt to those with more experience.

Pair A:
Currently contain Coral 12TET-1
Volume: ~8.5 cu. ft
Width: -19.9”, narrower
Total height: 39.5”
1960s, Japan, 3/4” stained, finished ply
Pro-built - it shows
Condition is excellent as-is
Towers; higher WAF

Pair B
Currently contain EV Wolverine 3-way
Volume: ~7.5 cu. ft.
Width: 26”, wider, like a shallow 620A
Total height: 42”
1960s, USA, 3/4” stained/finished ply
Home-built - it shows
Condition acceptable without refinishing or veneering
Tall, wide, and shallow; lower WAF

There‘s also a third pair of 4.5 cu. ft. empty cabinets in my closet that I was thinking about using for the 604 in a sealed configuration above my Fostex woofer cabs, but I’m really digging right now on the simplicity of a single pair of speakers, a single amp, and no processor. I think my first foray with Duplexes will be one of the larger two pairs of cabinets.

In my research the higher volume (9 cu.ft.) is more desired (choice A).

Yes, but modeling 7.5 and 8.5 cubic feet doesn’t yield much difference, and wider baffles seem heavily preferred. Also, the Markwart passive crossover I intend to build was designed for a 26” wide baffle, and I’m not even sure the best way to tweak it for increased BSC.

They say the larger Cu. Ft. Helps the low end but even with my large cabinets (8.75) I am still going to build stereo subs soon.

Higher WAF outweighs concerns over BSC, imo. The A cabinets look very nice and I suspect the width difference is inaudible to most.

With rare exceptions, IME, wider baffle = better sound, specially in the mids!
