Cars & Motorcycles

It LOOKS like a lot of work. '59 Chev fins at the back, and a '57 front end. Lotsa metalwork to make this happen.
The guy that built it has been telling me about it for a couple years.

What a difference the photo from the front makes.
I was like, hang on, that's not a '59 Chevy from the front! Until I read it's custom.

That is one reason I read Hot Rod as a kid. I always liked the custom builds. That was before the era when the mag became nothing but T&A, with occasional cars.

I devoured that magazine every time I got ahold of a copy when was I was a kid. 🙂

I shot these about two years ago at a Publix parking lot here in Palm Beach County - elderly gentleman owned the car. It was cool that he uses the car as his daily when going to the store. You usually only see these cars at car shows.

Very rare 66 with what looks like factory clock and AC….

Had a 66 coupe since 1993 but gave it to the oldest son, it’s in need of another restoration.

Fancy. I’m only familiar with the little lever on vent windows like my dad’s 65 Dodge Dart had.
The only advantage is that they stay in whatever position they are opened, harder to “jimmy open” with a knife but in a convertible ;)

Our '65 Wildcat had the dual cranks on the front doors--it's something I remember my mother complained about when we got the turd that was the '71 LeSabre, when vent windows were eliminated. I liked that they could let in a little air without needing to have the full window down. Plus, there were floor vents. The youngsters probably don't remember those either. 😁 Those were the days before AC was common.

Oh yeah, my friend’s dad kept a pint of whiskey inside the passenger side vent on his 74 Dart Swinger.
My 71 Demon had the floor vents too. No AC. Oh and the little squishy ball for the window washing fluid.
