Help me ID these Stax headphones

Several years back, I purchased these Stax headphones along with this Stax headphone amplifier. I am attaching a few photos. I was thinking about selling them both, but just listened to them for the first time in years and they sound absolutely terrific.

What model is the headphones? A Lambda I imagine? The serial number is visible on tne headband.

Does anybody have any experience with these? The phones are missing the covers that go over the wire inside the headphones. Does anyone know how I can replace them? They don’t really seem necessary but I guess I should find them?

Thanks.

Do they have five or six pin plug? If they have six pin plug they are normal bias Lambda if they have 5 pin plug they are pro-bias Lambda. I had (or heard) all of the Lambda models up to the new L500 and original Lambda Pro are very good headphones. Don't worry about the foam covers they are all useless and disintegrate on all old Stax headphones. Just keep these in a zip-lock bag to avoid dust.

Old Lambda Pro headphones are very good and have fast dynamic sound, and this amp also very nice. I like it better than many new Stax amps. You might make it better if you recap it since it's old and electrolytics in the power supply might be getting out of spec, but if amp sounds good just keep it the way it is.

That's Lambda Pro, but original normal bias Lambda looked the same. Same housing and arc assembly however the drivers were different and plug had six pins. Pro is 580V bias original is 280V.

Mine have five pins, which make them the Pro model. So should I plug them into the Pro jack vs. the normal? Thanks.

Yes, always plug them into Pro. They will work in normal but will sound soft and can get damaged if you play them at loud volumes.
