RIP Burt Bacharach

Given how many artists have covered various Burt songs, it's pretty easy to find one that might appeal to just about anybody.

[EDIT] the list includes The Stranglers, Dusty Springfield, Isaac Hayes, The White Stripes, Dionne Warwick, Cat Power, Naked Eyes, Tom Jones, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Elvis Costello, Arethra Franklin, CAKE, etc.

The epitome of sixties cool (the Rat Pack notwithstanding!), I would opine.

That horn :)

PS I do know the way to San Jose. Lived just a wee bit north of there for my first real job post-doc, in lovely  Milpitas, CA. I-680 or I-880'd do the trick; Bob's your uncle. Work was in Sunnyvale -- a brutal commute across the northern fringe of the Silicon Valley on CA 237 (which wasn't a freeway in those days).
