Continuing to dig through my Hifi closet. But these require some explanation and disclaimers. I am the original purchaser of each of these cartridges. I used each one for a year or two and then replaced it for the “latest and greatest.” I bought the Shures in approximately 1976 and 1978, and the Astatic a few years after that. (There were Deccas and Grado mixed in there as well.)

The Shures are the “G” version with conical stylus. I was a big believer in conical styli throughout this time because they sounded better than elliptical versions of the same cartridge. I concluded this after comparing conical vs elliptical with Deccas and Grados. Then JGH at Stereophile said the same thing about Shures so I went with the G conical Shures as well. The Astatic was my first non-conical.

Each of the cartridges worked great the entire time I used it, but here’s the disclaimer part: I haven’t used any of them since I packed them up after getting the replacement. They have been stored in my closet ever since at regular room temperature, but I have no idea what condition the cartridges and styli are in today. You may need to get a new stylus for any or all of them. As I recall the Shure V15–III and IV bodies can take either the conical or elliptical stylus although I only used conicals.

I evidently bought two replacement styli for the III-G but frankly I don’t remember anything about them. They could be brand new or both well worn; I just don’t know.

The original boxes are included. The V15-III even comes with a postcard to get a free Shure Trackability test record! (Lots of luck getting that.)

Prices include PayPal fees and shipping. US sales only.

Shure V15-III-G with 2 extra Shure VN3-G styli. $250.

Shure V15-IV-G. $160.

Astatic MF-200. $100.
