Stepping back to move forward….a turntable story

The Denon get sort of an Honorable Mention as it is outside the bounds with an unobtainable logic chip. That said and by all accounts, if it is serviced and maintained, it will last for years. But how many are not ticking time bombs by now is anyone’s guess. None of the vintage decks that are I n this thread are 100% guaranteed to be bombproof. All would require some basic maintenance to keep going.

I’ve never shopped for a new TT so the specs you are posting are both new to me and impressive! Excited for you in your journey. Also, thanks for sharing some of these decks; most of which I’ve never heard of or seen before. Neat stuff for sure!

Thanks for the kind words. It was my sincere hope to bring some of these Decks to the light as they have fallen out of favor with all the other options now available. This is just the tip of the iceberg as there are many more I don’t know about or are outside my criteria. Most of these are definitely beautiful to look at.

I saw one of the turntables out of the system with the orange trim for sale locally a few weeks ago. Certainly intriguing, especially as part of the whole setup.

I have the same issues and desires within my system as the Op does - more convenience but still want the better qualities. I had been hankering for that Denon DP59L and actually bought one for a friend a few years back that has a vintage system. Currently am running a EAT C-Sharp TT and while it performs I find I only use it for special occasions and/or special vinyl. If I'm up and putting vinyl on then moving the tonearm over to the lead in edge isn't a big factor to me. But, having to realize the side played out while I'm in the middle of pouring a pint out of my kegerator is. I wished this thing was a bit heavier but I'm going to snag me one. And it's new so shouldn't have to worry about it for several years. Anyone want to buy a TT?

if you otherwise like your current table, have you considered the aftermarket arm lift devices? from photos, that table may have the real estate for them.

I do have a couple of different ones and they are fidgety as well. Especially when I have "friends" over and they don't know how to reset them.

Deck is delayed….but it’s ok as I have a Stanton 881s due next week. Now, just need the owner of the GT to come and fetch it and I’ll be set!
