Amazon's got your doorway speakers right here: ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2

Unfortunately, mhardy's review got to me too late. But I'm still very glad I have a pair of the Debuts. I've got them running on my "Dreadnought" Pass ACA at about 6 watts with a Schiit Saga front end. Almost room filling but more efficient than my other speaker thingies I have here.

A friend prefers the Debuts to the UB5s. I disagree but was surprised to notice that they are larger but not nearly as large sounding. I run the UB5s in my mid to small living room. Love them.

I rather like the presentation of the Debuts. A good 2-way has always caught my ear.

That said, as I write this I am listening to some newly recapped and refoamed Optimus Pro77s (which temporarily replace the Andrew Jones Pioneer LS BS 22 LRs that reside on my desk). I so hate to admit it but I am hearing quite a bit more "sparkle" than I'm used to as I'm streaming old HOS programs via a Schiit Modi3. Damn it sounds kind of nice. Kind of sparkly, but I digress.

Perhaps Mr. Hardy is on to something but I still love both pairs of Elacs.

Just returned to the lil Pioneers (LS BS 22 LR's) and voila, mids return. Less sparkle but an overall more balanced presentation. Evidently the sparkle that so enthralled me last night was the result of so very few mids. I do understand the slow and thick, polite thing and sometimes that's where I prefer to be. Kind of the opposite of my favorite speakers, my old Rega Elas.

When I get some time, I plan to install the new crossover network developed for the Minimus 7 in these old junked Optimus Pro77's. It was developed collaboratively over on that other audio site but shepherded by a now deceased prodigious poster and JBL fan there.

I've already modded one set of M7's and was quite pleased with the result. Large loss of sensitivity but an overall more refined speaker, once modded. Once modded the M7's are quite nice but not as nice as my little speaker standard, the ADS 200's.

Sorry for the digressions but for a while "sparkle" from the Optimus Pro77s was good to hear.
