Hello from Guy

Hi all,
I have been lurking here for a couple of years. I found the site when I was preparing to update the tweeters in my Mk 1 Rega Ela’s . Thanks for the useful thread/site :)

Room is longer than photo shows, but the Ela’s cope quite well - lovely speaker in my opinion.
Recently moved the power amp on to record store to right in order to get shorter cable between passive pre and to give more freedom of placement for the speakers. I think that I am done on the HiFI “Upgrade road” - certainly very happy with system.

Welcome to the haven!

Looks like Thiels for speakers?

I see the turntable is mounted on a wall shelf, did you notice a substantial difference in reducing vibrations from a floor standing shelf system?

:)Speakers are still my trusty mk1 Rega Ela.

The LP12 was originally on a “sound organisation” low level table, but was moved to wall mount for child safety - extreme panic about twenty eight years ago when my first born toddler managed to knock one of the Ela’s over on to the LP12 😲
Thankfully the only casualty was the Perspex lid.
The wall shelf does make the siting more user friendly - particularly as I get older.

I have never really suffered with floor vibrations as both of my houses have had concrete floors and the Ela’s don’t do chest vibrating bass, just fast, tactile, well defined but polite lower registers.

by the way - many thanks for the welcomes.
