Howdy to Havenites!

Greetings, all! Looking forward to participating. I can't really claim to have found this place all by myself, someone actually referred me here. :) He shall go nameless so no one can ask him "what kind of crazy people do you know, anyway?"

Is this where I tell you a bit about myself?

Extremely dull. :grandpa:

Now for my system. I have a McIntosh tubes, plain old wire, Tannoy speakers, RP6 turntable and a Sony SACD player. And a few other odds and ends hanging around like KEF speakers, Denon, Pioneer and Technics receivers, NAD separates and other bits in the Under Stair storage, etc. Not all playing at once, mind you!

See you around the forums!

Havenites?

Have nites?

I should have thought out the thread title a little better. Oh well.

Thanks!

Depends on the tubes, I guess! ;)

Oh, I see there is a signature option for a system listing. Good idea!

BTW, when did you get the RP6? What happened to your Oracle?

It's a long, sad story. (well, not really but....) Had tonearm problems (due to a previous installer at a good quality stereo store!) and discovered that the replacement motor was a few thousand dollars so it became trade in time. And a buddy had bought one before me and loved it. Was considering a VPI but it was out of my price range. And since I could buy Groovetracer upgrades when I could afford them, the RP6 was the way to go.

Of course now that the CAD $ has tanked, that's not working out to well, is it?

Oh well, I'll get there eventually!

Hunt around and deals can be found.

Yes, the replacement motor thing at Oracle is not small change. It does lift you to the level of the Mk VI from a motor perspective, but it still ain't a small purchase.
