Sennheiser MKE2 -> DPA MMA6000 preamp, as spaced PZM-BLE at 12’ spacing, taped tight to balcony face; and in tight to a steel angle frame, to isolate the far spread mics even more from each other.

Six Mic Mix = omnis (all) at +4dB over the CM3 XY pair.
Some compression added to all ovations.
A stepped gain was added leading up the Ukrainian National Anthem, as it was quiet and somber in comparison to the Fanfare that followed.

Güde was going all gangsta. And, directly below his chin is my CM3 pair, as XY Coincident stereo
There was a lady patron who came up to me, and had to learn about the cute head that I had flying. Güde,... a great wingman.


Recording bag velcroed to handrail, to keep aisle clear, as it was really tight there, and tripping someone, well, its a good 15+, 20' drop to the chairs below.

So, this "Matrix" offering is a total tossed salad, a melange of microphones, across the face of the balcony. Its something that I do, very rarely,... mixing three stereo recordings into a single stereo matrix mix.
I loaded the tracks into my editing software, and trimmed them to synchronicity (two were already synched; one needed to be synched to those others).
This alignment helps in getting the tracking split points consistent in all recordings. When I aligned them, I started muting some tracks, and, soloing others, and, everything kept going back to running all three stereo recordings into one, and see what happens. So, I did, and, I feel the result is worthy of presenting.

The matrix is:
Binaural stereo tracks from my binaural head (omnidirectional pair)
Sub-cardioid pair XY 90º coincidental stereo
Widely spread Omnidirectional pair as Pressure Zone/Boundary Layer stereo (12' spread, with mic isolation at either end of the spread). The mics were taped tight to the hard drywall face of the balcony, on the orchestra side of the balcony.
The mix is all omnidirectional tracks at +4dB over the XY90º pair.
