The coolest roundabout ever!

Paint creek, my favorite local trail. I like starting at Rochester Mills Brewery, riding to Lake Orion, and then the much easier ride back. Then I get to treat myself with a couple brews after the ride. Been a few years since I did that.
I think I tried it with my better half three years ago but it was too busy and we turned back. My last full run was probably 2015 or 2016. I usually park off of the Clinton River trail and ride through downtown Rochester, which gets me nearly 20 miles round trip.

I'm itching to get back on the trails but I can't afford to take 3-4 hours out of the day to do it anymore. But I may try to work in a chunk of time once every week or two. I miss being out on the trails.

Dave Barry once articulated the Florida way of driving:
Death before yielding.

It's pretty much that way in much of New England -- although the old ways of rotary etiquette (the densest stream of traffic had - took - the right of way) [edit] have been supplanted by, you know, the law ;). Nowadays, traffic entering rotaries does, usually, yield. The delays at rush hour are often of Biblical proportions.

I don't think I've ever tried to ride a bike through a busy Massachusetts rotary, come to think of it.

My German teacher in high school told us about the first time he encountered the Champs-Élysées. He somehow got stuck in one of the inner lanes and had to make 8 or 9 circuits before he was able to get to the lane he needed to exit.
I made a trip to Paris when in the US Army stationed in Europe and I was driving my 3-speed, push-button automatic Renault and was caught in the Arc de Triomphe roundabout for at least five, maybe six turns before I found my way out. Acceleration wasn’t its strong suit. But what an experience.
