Anybody "modeled" their listening room in the GIK Room Acoustics Visualizer?

I'm sure former GIK customers already got the email. The SlatfFusor was just introduced, and GIK is running a 15% sale on this new product. Very limited in choices though--the slats are only available in oak veneer, backing cloth is only in black. Sizes are 2", 4" and 6" thick, and in 2'x4' rectangular and 2'x2' square.

Here's a link to diy diffusers for anyone interested.
This is on my radar for next year's project list.

I had a guy here locally build me the Decware quadratic diffusers, which was very cost effective. Especially when compared to buying them from Decware.

I really like the GIK products, but just looking at bass traps for the three corners of the room (the fourth is open to another room), I would have to spend ~$900. Everyone has given me compliments on the four GIK diffuser/absorbers behind my speakers, but I need to treat a few more areas, and financially it's not in the cards. I would probably buy the fabric from GIK though, from their DIY department, so everything matches. But otherwise, this is not rocket science, and with the appropriate help I could probably get the right specs to make my own absorbers and/or diffusers.

I did the same thing. I was thinking about spending $2k+ with GIK to treat my whole room.

After a little searching around I found how they made their absorption panels and made them myself and even ordered acoustic fabric from Guilford Of Maine.

I've done all that was speced by GIK except the scatter panels and it's only cost me about $800 thus far.

I would do the scatter panels, but its hard to find someone to make the scatter panels, so that I could install them on a frame and then hang them.

Looking to do room treatment and found this thread. I noticed that @Audiofreak71 and I were both stationed at Ft Wainwright at the same time. (96-98 4-11 FA) and (2001-2003 4-11 FA). Small world!

He is for sure! When he comes into town I always take him to lunch and dinner, he stays at my house and we catch up and talk about old times.

That’s awesome, when I was stationed at Ft. Wainwright (98-01) I was in 172inf BFD 562nd Engineer Company and they used to jump out the back of C-17’s I was Commo so I video taped it all , no jumping for this guy lol.

Wow! it sure is a small world, we may have crossed paths while there since it wasn’t a very big base.

Were you FA? I was a 25U and was the Commo NCOIC for 562nd Engineer

Always good to see another light fighter! I was FA (13F, 13E, 13Z). First time there I was the BN FDC NCO and the second time I was HHSB 1SG and later BN CSM.

Yes it is, I still keep in touch with a few of us. Sounds like you were there for awhile, I had a good time there but was ready for some temps above zero after my first tour lol.
